Open Access

About This Guide

The movement to make publications open access has been around for some time but has become increasingly important as many universities, including Harvard University and Boston University, have formally established open access policies.  Open access literature is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. This guide will provide, among other things, an overview of the movement, a listing of directories & repositories, statements and mandates by various organizations, and copyright information about open access literature.  It will also include information about open access policies at Boston University.
