Mane lives and works on the Cape Verde Islands and is obsessed by football. His attempts to train a local team are not successful but he sees real talent in one boy. Overcome with the idea of getting him to try out for Benfica, Portugal's national football team, he blows his wife's savings on an air ticket to Lisbon.
