that we have compiled for film discussions of the listed films.

About the Series.
The BU African Studies Library's CineMAfriq Film Series began in 2016 as the brainchild of Africana Liaison, Gabe Adugna. It has continued, even despite the pandemic, and continues to be one of the Library's most consistent and popular events.

The goals of this film series are to:

  • Introduce faculty, staff and students to film databases as resources that they can use on their own, in courses or in projects.

  • Provide instructors and their students with an alternate venue for engaging with their particular language of study; hopefully providing them with opportunity to engage with first language speakers also in attendance.

  • Showcase materials in our collections that are related to the films.

  • Promote use of the library space beyond the stereotypical study space and repository of books.
