Articles and book chapters of physical items that BU owns are the easiest thing we can send via document delivery. If you only need one section of a book, please only request that section when placing an ILLiad request. Since we can scan these and send them electronically, they will arrive much faster (1-2 days instead of 1-2 weeks) than a book!
To request articles or book chapters, please sign into ILLiad (through our interlibrary loan page) and place an article request. Include as much information as possible about the volume, chapter, and/or pagination that you need scanned. Please be aware of copyright restrictions and only request one complete article/chapter from a volume, or less than 10% of the volume's total pages.
The following video shows Distance students the specific steps needed to register for ILL. It is important that you note you are a distance student in the registration, so we can provide you document delivery services!
Please mark your Campus Affiliation as "Online Distance Program," school as "STH," department as "DMin," and choose "Theology" as your service unit.
Placing a Document Delivery request through ILLiad is the same as an interlibrary loan request, save for the fact that we own the resource! The following video shows all students how to place a request from another library; in particular, focus on section 2 and 3 of the tutorial to learn how to place requests.
What if we don't own the article or chapter you are looking for? Interlibrary loan scans of articles and book chapters are available to all distance education students, as these can be sent electronically.
ILLs are processed the same way as document delivery scans. When they become available in ILLiad, you will receive an email inviting you to log in and download the scanned .pdf file.
