ScienceDirect is a general science database that searches journal articles and book chapters in all areas of science, technology, and health. ScienceDirect also provides full text access to a number of major reference works, allows the user to create email alerts for specific journal titles, book series, or research topics, and provides access to a limited number of "pre-pub" articles (articles accepted for publication but not yet officially released).
ScienceDirect does not have a separate widget to create permalinks. The URL displayed in the search bar should work as a permalink.
If you’re accessing ScienceDirect on-campus when you copy the link, you may need to add the proxy prefix so off-campus users are able to access the article. To make a proxied URL, add https://ezproxy.bu.edu/login?url= to the beginning of the full URL. It is important to test the link to ensure that it works as intended prior to sharing with students.
