Tools for Managing Your Research

  • RefWorks: RefWorks is an online tool that is free to all BU users. It allows you to store and organize citations, and generate bibliographies within a matter of seconds. Use RefWorks if you want to use a tool that works seamlessly with databases such as CINAHL and PsycInfo. It works well with PubMed, but requires an extra step.
  • Mendeley: A free, online tool for all users. Similar to RefWorks, and it works seamlessly with PubMed.
  • Zotero: Another freely available citation tool for storing your references and creating reference pages.

Covidence

Covidence is now available to BU researchers. This is a powerful tool for managing your evidence synthesis project and it enables you to de-duplicate your citations and allows you to collaborate on the screening process with your fellow students or researchers. Covidence also has a data extraction tool. Here are some resources to help you get started with Covidence:
