Statistical Software
BU Information Services & Technology has negotiated licenses for several statistical programs used throughout the university. A few relevant programs are listed below.
- JMP Software program from SAS Institute to perform simple and complex statistical analysis. Available through BU IS&T.
- NVivo Organizes, analyzes and displays information with powerful search, query and visualization tools. Application allows users to organize their material by topic, uncover trends and emerging themes, and create diagrams, charts or models to present and clarify discoveries.
- SAS Popular statistical package that can be used for data management, report writing, statistical analysis, and graphics. Available through BU IS&T.
- SPSS Undergraduate and graduate students may access SPSS Statistics in individual department labs as well as via the IS&T thin-client lab located in BU Common@Mugar at 771 Commonwealth Avenue.
- Tableau Public Free software that allows anyone to connect to a spreadsheet or file and create interactive data visualizations for the web.
