The Boston Athenaeum is an independent library founded in 1807 that houses antiques, books, art, and more! Its collections support research in the history of Boston and New England, but the Athenaeum is more than a research library. Visit to see the beautiful mid-19th century building or go to an event, talk, or lecture. You can buy a ticket to visit the first floor, or a day pass to the entire library and museum.

This card allows you to borrow books directly from other libraries in the BLC besides the ones listed above. A BLC card is not required for using the space of a member library, just for checking out their materials.
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library is dedicated to the memory of the 35th president. Here, you can see exhibits about his life, presidency, the space program expansion, and Jackie Kennedy. Tickets are required to enter the library and museum. It is located just a few stops up the Red Line.
