LA245: Introduction to Law

International Law

In our global economy, many companies face challenges regarding international law. When researching a transaction that goes across country borders, consider research regarding the Commission for International Sale of Goods (CISG), as well as the Uniform Commercial Code. Any company or industry that has a global supply chain may also present issues of international law. Be sure to research industry and company information regarding supply chain challenges, and the laws regarding child labor and human rights. Research on international law may also cover the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. There is extensive news coverage of the FCPA, but also consider reviewing the SEC’s website, the DOJ-SEC Guide to the FCPA.

For additional resources, see the BU School of Law Libraries International Law research guides. Some of the resources on the Law Library’s guides are only accessible by BU Law students, but the law guides do provide a more detailed coverage of the subject.
