BULS & BU Worldcat Discovery

Boston University Libraries Search (BULS) and BU WorldCat Discovery let you search for books at BU and throughout the world.  Type keywords in their search boxes and use the filters on the right to customize the search results. Try to be specific at first. Then, go with broader subjects.

Browse by subject & Keyword(s)

Library of Congress subject headings can facilitate a search for books.  It is a good idea to search by keyword as well, especially for a specific item.  Click on the link to the photography main heading to find the subheadings.

Try keywords, e.g., photography AND paris

Sign-in

Remember to "Sign In" with your BU login. Our online database and ebook subscriptions are available only to BU faculty, students, and staff. Signing in also lets you request unavailable books directly from BULS by clicking a Request button and from the BU WorldCat Discovery database.

eBooks

eBook records are in the BULS catalog.  You also can search for and within eBooks directly in ProQuest Ebook Central and in our other eBook collections -- by title, if you know it, or with keywords.

Book Reviews

Book reviews mainly are published in journals and can be found in BULS in two ways:

Type the book title with quotation marks in the search box and use filter "Reviews."
Example:  "The new woman international: representations in photography and film from the 1870s through the 1960s"

Type the book title with quotations in the search box and hit Enter.
Example: "Constructing worlds : photography and architecture in the modern age"
