The best way to discover articles is to search databases (try Search) – you will be searching millions of records at once. However, finding a journal that specializes on your topic is also a very effective means of scholarship.
If you are looking for a list of the most highly cited journals in your specialty, try the Social Sciences subcategories within Google Scholar Metrics. Journals in Scholar are ranked in order of their h-5 index.
Alternatively, the impact factor metric from Clarivate Analytics is also very popular. Find journal impact factors in BU Libraries' Journal Citation Reports database.
These metrics are not the final word on research quality: in fact, many scholars say they're overvalued. There's no substitute for reading and judging for yourself!
