- Inspec This link opens in a new window Inspec is a database of research literature in the fields of engineering, physics and computing. It includes journal articles, conference papers and book content.
- Web of Science This link opens in a new window This database is a core general science resource, covering all aspects of scientific literature. It also has a number of tools that make it a unique resource for finding scholarly literature. Item records come with links both to the works cited by the paper in question and the future works that cite that paper. Web of Science also allows the user to set up email alerts for specific authors or topics, provides researcher profiles, and to use associated journal metrics provided by the vendor.
- Compendex This link opens in a new window Compendex is a database of scientific and technical engineering research covering all engineering disciplines. It includes engineering journals and conference proceedings. Combined with the Engineering Index (1884-1969) it covers 130+ years of core engineering literature.
- Engineering Village This link opens in a new window Engineering Village is a discovery platform that allows researchers to search across multiple databases (Compendex and Inspec) simultaneously. The platform provides powerful features to refine and filter searches and to sort and format search results and link to full text articles.
- CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics This link opens in a new window This reference work comprises hundreds of tables of scientific data, including physical constants, chemical properties, mathematics, and laboratory safety. Searching by chemical structure is possible via a drawing tool.
- Energy Citations Database Contains publicly available bibliographic records for energy and energy-related scientific and technical information from the Department of Energy (DOE). 1948+
- Science.gov Gateway to selected science information and research and development results by U.S. Government agencies.
Physics Preprints - one of the earliest methods of "open access" to scholarly information was the sharing and distribution of physics preprints, manuscripts that have yet to undergo the peer-review process. This sharing of research remains important in the discipline.
- ArXiv.orgStarted in 1995, this site provides a fully automated electronic archive and distribution server for research papers. Covered areas include physics and related disciplines, mathematics, nonlinear sciences, computational linguistics, and neuroscience.
- CERN Document ServerA searchable database of over 550,000 bibliographic records, including 220,000 fulltext documents, of interest to those working in particle physics and related areas. Also covers preprints, articles, books, journals, and photographs.
- SPIRES High Energy Physics LiteratureSearch more than 500,000 high-energy physics related articles, including journal papers, preprints, e-prints, technical reports, conference papers and theses, comprehensively indexed by the SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) libraries. 1974+
- Digital Einstein PapersOpen-access website for The Collected Papers of Albert Einstein, the ongoing publication of Einstein’s massive written legacy comprising more than 30,000 unique documents. Presents all 13 volumes published to date by the editors of the Einstein Papers Project, covering the writings and correspondence of Albert Einstein (1879-1955) from his youth to 1923. Updated with subsequent volumes in the series roughly two years after original book publication.

ScienceDirect also provides full text access to a number of major reference works, allows the user to create email alerts for specific journal titles, book series, or research topics, and provides access to a limited number of "pre-pub" articles (articles accepted for publication but not yet officially released).
- SPIE Digital Library This link opens in a new window The SPIE (The International Society for Optics and Photonics) Digital Library includes SPIE journals and conference papers on optics and photonics.
- JSTOR This link opens in a new window This database provides full text access to the back issues of core scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Book reviews are included as well as journal articles. Abstracts are available for some of the articles.
- SpringerLink eBooks This link opens in a new window The SpringerLink eBooks database contains the full-text of over 45,000 eBooks, the majority of them related to engineering and computer science. There are also books on other topics, including medicine, mathematics, life sciences, and the social sciences. Previews of hundreds of additional titles are also available. Most titles are in English but some books in other languages are also included.
