- MarketLine (Formerly Datamonitor) Company ProfilesMarketLine (Formerly Datamonitor) Company Profiles provide profiles on companies worldwide and are available through the Business Source Complete database. Each company profile includes a business description, company history, key employees, major products and services and top competitors. Many of the profiles contain a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis. To locate a company profile, browse the alphabetical list of company profiles or type the company name into the “Browse For” search box and click on the Browse button.
Type the company name into the search box. The MarketLine (formerly Datamonitor) report includes a revenue analysis, a SWOT analysis, top competitors, major products & services and a company view.
- FactivaProvides worldwide full text coverage of local and regional newspapers, trade publications, business newswires, press release wires, media transcripts, news photos, business-rich websites, investment analyst reports, market research reports, country and regional profiles, company profiles, historical market data. Date coverage varies by publication.

Select the Companies/Markets option. Type in company name or ticker into the search box. The company snapshot includes latest news, peer comparison and key financials.

NetAdvantage (S&P Global) provides web based access to S&P Industry Surveys, S&P Company Profiles, Stock Reports and Sub-Industry Reviews. Each S&P Industry Survey includes current trends, how the industry operates, downloadable company data and links to industry trade associations.
- EDGAR (U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission)The Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system contains companies' legal documents. Enter the name or ticker of the company you would like to research to see their reports and filings.

Click on "Companies/Markets" in the row along the top of the screen. Type the name or ticker of the company you want to research. The Company Snapshot also includes a Peer Comparison section where you can compare it to other companies in the same industry

This database will compare company against company using ratios and financial metrics, access company SEC filings like 10-k’s as well as annual reports and allows you to export financials into Excel. See Mergent Tutorial.
Company Financials- Click on the Company Financials tab to obtain financial statement information and ratios.
SEC Filings - Click on the Filings tab.
Competitors’ Financial Information - Click on the Competitors tab. Create a competitor report.
Company Comparisons - Click on the Report Builder tab and then click on the Comparison Reports link and select either Compare Company Against Industry or Compare Company Against Custom Group.

Nexis Uni is a source for newspapers and magazines, trade journals, wire services and transcripts, as well as legal sources for federal and state cases and statutes, including U.S. Supreme Court decisions since 1790, and information on U.S. and international companies and executives.
Find a Company: financial information, corporate hierarchy, legal information and intellectual property.
Create a Company List: search by industry code (SIC or NAICS), employee size, sales/revenue and geographic locations
Compare Companies: Create a report with balance sheet, income statement and ratio information.
Under the “Companies” tab, the SEC Filings link provides the option of searching for various SEC filings such as the Form 10-K and the Form 10-Q.
Private Company Information
Information on private companies, especially financial information is challenging to find. Company overviews and articles from business and trade publications are good sources for private company information.
