Music Fellowships, Competitions and Grants

To encourage the continued development of an intellectual community around the arts and arts practice at BU and enhance our student-life experience, the BU Arts Initiative offers research grants for graduate and undergraduate research, as well as grants to faculty, students, and staff for projects that directly engage students in the arts. Committees of faculty, staff, and students review all proposals.

Accepts proposals by University affiliates seeking support for individual and collective scholarly work toward symposia, publication, student and junior faculty research, and library acquisitions.

Interdisciplinary Course Development Grants give faculty additional time and resources to create new courses or redesign existing courses that cross department, program, and school/college boundaries. The awards are intended to promote faculty and student collaboration across disciplines in support of innovative undergraduate and doctoral education.

The Office of National and International Fellowships and Scholarships provides information, outreach, and support to high-achieving Boston University students and alumni interested in applying to nationally competitive scholarships.

Provides comprehensive support to members of the Boston University research community engaged in the preparation and submission of research proposals and the management of funded research projects.

UROP has been fostering faculty-mentored research experiences for BU undergraduate students since 1997. Our faculty mentors serve as guides, coaches, and facilitators—our student researchers hone critical skills while learning the language of their chosen discipline.
