BU Initiative on Cities
The Initiative on Cities, a new urban leadership and research center at Boston University, was designed to bridge the worlds of academic research and education and the real-life practice of city governance. To fulfill that role, the IoC operates as both a convener and catalyst. As a convener, the Initiative brings mayors and local leaders together with academics from across disciplines to tackle pressing urban issues. As a catalyst, the Initiative provides public service fellowships and hosts prominent public speakers to spark young people’s interest in cities and public service.
