The Missionary Society was organized in 1819. Its purpose was to aid the Annual Conferences in their benevolent and charitable work in both domestic and foreign missions. The Society administered its work through a Board of Managers, subject to the General Missionary Committee. Contains annual reports of the Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church from 1819-1906. Reports are filmed in chronological order.

The Missionary Society was reorganized in 1906 and changed its name to the Board of Foreign Missions. Its objectives were religious and philanthropic, designed to share the Christian faith through promotion and support of Christian Missions and educational institutions in foreign countries.

Contains handwritten transcript minutes of the Board of Managers and the Board of Foreign Missions of the Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church from 1819-1916. Minutes are filmed in chronological order.
