Publishing Oral History Interviews

Access to Oral History Interviews

The access and use of an interview should always be respected. If all parties have agreed to make an interview publicly available, then the interview can be published to the appropriate digital repository or digital platforms for others to access.

Providing written documentation of the interviews, such as transcripts and bibliography documents can promote accessibility of the recordings through the repository. This can make detailed content of the interviews available to diverse audiences.

Any restrictions requested by the interviewee for sensitive or personal content of the interview should be placed on the record for the interview as necessary, including the recording and the transcription. If the interviewee is unconformable with providing the name of the interviewee, they can choose to remain anonymous to the public.
