Time Management Tips

Create a Calendar

  • Create a calendar
  • Plan when major assignments, tests, and readings are due
  • Plan when you need to be present for meetings, office hours, or classes

Prioritize

  • Which tasks are most important?
  • Which tasks are due before others?
  • Which tasks do you want to get started on since it might take longer to complete?

Make a To Do List

  • Create a to-do list where you write down the tasks you want or need to complete
  • This way, you know what tasks are complete and what remains left to finish

Studying Efficiently

  • Prioritize the readings for the next class
  • It's okay to jump around an article! You can start with an introduction, then conclusion, then come back to the beginning!
  • Take notes on your readings by writing notes in the margins, writing down big ideas and concepts, and the evidence that is used by the author
  • Prepare some questions, thoughts, or reactions for discussion in class

Self-Care

  • Remember to be kind to yourself, school is overwhelming!
  • Schedule time for taking care of yourself and your well-being
