Logging Into Reserves

Over the last year, the BU Libraries has changed the way we run our course reserves system. In the past, students could search for their course materials under a "Course Reserves" scope in BU Libraries Search. Now, we have a whole new course reserves website dedicated to reserves. Accessing your course materials is now easier than ever.

You can log into BU Course Reserves with your Kerberos username/password. From the home page, you'll automatically see the reading lists of all the courses you are actively enrolled in, provided they have a Blackboard course site. For any courses not using a Blackboard site, you can simply search for the course code or title under the "Find Lists" link on the left-hand page navigation.

More training materials about the new reserves system will be produced shortly. In the meantime, feel free to contact Alexis Gomez if you have any questions about the new system.

Course Reserves at Pickering

For Students

We at Pickering strive to make as many course readings available for free as possible through the course reserves system. Course reserves include books, articles, book chapters, websites, videos, and any other required media for each course. Professors contact the reserves coordinator, Alexis Gomez, to set up course reserves every semester -- if your course has no reserves set up, ask your professor!

In the box below, you can find links to all active course reserves lists for the current semester. If the course materials are articles, websites, eBooks, or any other electronic/digital material, they will be directly accessible through the links below. For physical materials, the title, call number, and location of each item will be in the reserves list. All you have to do is visit the library and ask for the item you need at the circulation desk, and one of our staff will bring it to you.

If any of the below links are not working, or if you notice any bad links or issues with the reserves lists themselves, fill out this reserves broken link form so we can get it fixed asap. And if you have any questions about course reserves, don't hesitate to shoot Alexis an email.

For Faculty

It is incredibly easy for faculty to set up course reserves for their classes, all you have to do is email your syllabus to Alexis Gomez, our reserves coordinator, and request that a reserves list be set up! We at Pickering highly encourage every professor to request a course reserve set-up, as it is a means of saving students money, and it delivers course reading materials to students in a convenient and direct way. Reserves lists can be directly integrated with your Blackboard courses, and for those who do not use Blackboard, permalinks to the reserve lists can easily be added to any syllabus or alternative course management site you choose to use.

If you would like to set up course reserves for your class, please visit the "Setting Up Reserves" page and then get in touch with Alexis as soon as you're ready.
