LA245: Introduction to Law

Dispute Resolution

Dispute Resolution is about how businesses resolve disputes with other businesses or individuals. When researching any dispute that has ended up in the courts, it is important to understand the Court System. It is also important to consider the role of Discovery. Many cases are covered extensively in the news, but remember you can also look up the case directly with the court. If a business is a publicly traded company, it must report any pending litigation in its filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Finally, consider whether any methods of ADR have been utilized.
